As some of our founders are from Nationally Ranked High Schools, we sought their input as for what was needed in making the MASON-DIXON BOWL the DMV’s premier Youth Football Game.
Their reply was first for the inclusion of as many of the top players as possible, not just those who could afford it.
Secondly that the players should be rewarded for their success.
Finally to provide a platform where the best of the best can compete in a healthy environment. And whereby coaches could effectively evaluate the talent.
Our goal for the 8th-grade teams is that each player is afforded the opportunity to be recruited and play for an area private school. We want to assist in making that school affordable and attainable by the family of each player.
Each player is different and some may elect to attend their local public high school. What we want, is for these boys to have the choice to do so. We want to make sure that each player is ready to play upon entering high school and that they will know what it takes to maintain high school eligibility while competing against and with the best.
Event results will be reported to many of the reporting agencies such a Rivals, 24/7 and N.P.F.A., acknowledging the top performers; “The Diamond” Players.
Several high school coaches from prominent programs such as Good Counsel, Gonzaga, DeMatha, St. John’s, Georgetown Prep, Calvert Hall, Loyola, Spalding, Pallotti, McDonough etc., will attend many of the Mason-Dixon Bowl practices along with the Bowl games.
